Rail Transportation

Rail freight service in Northern Kentucky is provided by two railroad systems — the Norfolk-Southern Corporation and CSX Transportation. Norfolk-Southern has direct service to 22 states and Ontario. Piggyback and “Triple Crown” service is also available. CSX provides direct service to 21 states and Ontario. The company also provides piggyback and through bulk service. Conrail is also available in Cincinnati.

Amtrak’s Cardinal passenger service makes three runs each week to Chicago and New York, through the Union Terminal in Cincinnati.
